Granby Superintendent Finalists

The Granby Public Schools has selected two finalists in the search for the next Superintendent of  Granby. The two finalists are Dr. Joanne Menard and Mary Jane Rickson.

Dr. Joanne Menard - Joanne Menard, of Holden, is currently the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction at Holliston Public Schools where she collaborates with district curriculum coordinators and leaders on the development and management of UbD curriculum alignment and mapping documentation and re-establishing district wide curriculum reviews in which all levels are represented. Dr. Menard has been with Holliston Public Schools since 2021. Other responsibilities she has maintained include being the liaison to the School Committee’s Policy and Budget Committees, a district English Language Learner Coordinator, and running the district’s professional development council.

Dr. Menard has been in education for 17 years and 10 of them are in leadership. She received her Masters in Education from Anna Maria College and her CAGS in Educational Leadership from Fitchburg State University. Her doctorate in Educational Leadership was from the University of Hartford.

Mary Jane Rickson - Mary Jane Rickson, of West Warren, is currently the Interim Superintendent of Granby Public Schools. In the past year she has worked diligently to align financial resources with district goals to optimize student outcomes and ensure high-quality instruction and a supportive learning environment. Previously she was the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment at Hampshire Regional School District, Director of Career and Technical Education at Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical and Interim Superintendent of Schools at Maynard Public Schools.

Ms. Rickson has been in the education field for 35 years, 18 of those years being in leadership. She received her Bachelors from Western New England University and her Masters in Educational Leadership from American International College.

The next step in the process involves site visits by representatives of the search committee the week of March 31st and public interviews to be held the week of April 7th. Congratulations to both finalists!
